FidiasApp was created and designed especially for Fidias Panayioutou, a Member of the European Parliament.
The primary purpose of this first version of the App is to facilitate direct communication between Fidias and his supporters in his home country, Cyprus.
Future versions will enable all people of Europe to participate.
Fidias is a strong advocate of Direct Democracy. His App includes two key modules:
- Vote on EU Matters
- Poll: Your opinion matters
This module allows Fidias to present important issues to his supporters that will be voted on in the European Parliament. When Fidias puts these matters up for a vote on the app, he commits to voting in line with the majority opinion of his supporters. This module is designed to ensure direct influence on his voting decisions by the public.
In this module, Fidias seeks public opinion on specific topics. Unlike the voting module, there is no obligation for Fidias to act on the poll results. The purpose of the poll is to gather feedback, inform strategy, and guide campaigns. Poll responses are collected on a scale of agreement: Not at all, Very little, A little bit, Very, Very much, as opposed to a simple Yes/No format.
The FidiasApp includes also other modules.
It will be periodically updated with additional features and functionalities to further engage Fidias's supporters and enhance direct democratic participation.
